Tim Connolly, Partner
With a background in publishing and management, Tim worked as a Search Consultant in London specialising in the media sector before setting up A La Carte in 2001.

Tim has enjoyed transferring A La Carte from a search firm to a management consultancy working purely for the Life Sciences recruitment industry. He is responsible for leading the business consultancy projects, both for specialist Life Sciences recruitment firms as well as for pharmaceutical companies and CROs.
He also heads up the business development and is responsible for growing the company through new ventures and strategic alliances.
Outside work Tim enjoys skiing and trying to beat the 1 hour 30 minute barrier in half marathons as well as writing and performing stand up comedy.
Nick Workman, Partner
Nick commenced his career in Search in 1998 where he joined a global recruitment company, initially based in their UK office. Over eleven years he was responsible for company sales across the UK, Europe and Asia, managing teams of consultants in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia, living and working overseas.
Nick has continued to develop a truly global client base throughout his career. He understands the nuances of different cultures and ways of doing business in various countries. He also is familiar with the sensitivities around relocating, living and working overseas, having done it himself three times. He has always been a first class revenue generator and was instrumental in building the company’s two highest performing markets.

Nick joined A La Carte in January 2010 as Partner and was key in developing the company’s overseas presence whilst helping Tim Connolly capitalise on the success of the company in the UK. Nick is responsible for all of A La Carte’s active candidates in the UK and overseas, not only during the recruitment process but throughout their whole career. He is also very client focused, making sure clients receive the best talent in the market and are satisfied with the level of service they receive. He absolutely loves what A La Carte stands for and the quality of the work we deliver.
Also a trained chef, Nick loves nothing more than cooking and entertaining. He is married and had his first baby in January 2011. He takes exercise very seriously and runs at least 3 times a week, enjoys going out with his Tunbridge Wells friends and wake boards throughout the summer.
